Veneers:

These restoration are made of a very thin layer of porcelain that can reshape patient's front teeth to a beautiful natural and healthy looking smile. The latest in technology allows to make restorations as thin as a contact lens. Veneers will make the teeth look straighter and whiter and can be used as an alternative to orthodontics to straighten anterior teeth. They are extremely durable. There are two kinds of porcelain veneers: Layered or thinpress (Lumineers, Vivaneers) which can be placed without grinding the natural teeth , without numbing the patient or with minimal grinding of tooth's enamel, and pressable porcelain (IPS Empress) which requires some reshaping of the natural teeth. When the patient decides to have veneers done, Dr. Alonso will take  digital photos and models to create with the lab a diagnostic wax-up which is a replica of the veneers or full porcelain crown restorations made in wax before fabricating the final restorations so patient and Dr. can see how the teeth will look before proceding with the making of the finished product.

Metal Free Fillings and Crowns:  

In the past, most dental restorations on posterior teeth were done with metal filling made of amalgam(siver alloy mixed with mercury) and gold or non precious metal. Today we have amazing materials that are metal-free, very durable and match the natural color of the teeth.  White composite fillings are very strong and bond better to the enamel of the teeth and minimal reshaping is needed to preserve more of the natural tooth structure.

Metal free crowns are cosmetically very natural looking and are very sturdy. Zirconia based crowns are milled from a block of extremely hard zirconia using cad-cam computerized technology, then layered with natural looking porcelain.

We use gold or porcelain fused to gold in specific cases or when the patient requests it.

Teeth Whitening:

We offer two different whitening systems:

-Take home trays and gel kits which require the patient to use every day for 2 to 3 weeks, a few hours at a time.  

- Zoom! II in office whitening system which takes about 1 hour in the office and results are immediate.

In both cases the patient will keep the custom  trays for needed touch ups in the future.

Both are very effective in   achieving great results.

Clear aligners

Clear aligners is an orthodontic treatment used to correct malposition of the teeth without using wires and brackets like traditional braces.

It consists of a series of clear and almost invisible aligners that are worn all day except to eat or brush and are replaced every 2 weeks until teeth are perfectely aligned without braces or wires.

Treatment is limited to selected cases including mild teeth crowding, spaces,mild overbites .More severe malpositions require traditional ortho treatment by orthodontist.
